18" ATX Mojave on 2012 DC?

My stock wheels are:

18" X 7.5"

Offset 25

and I'm thinking of going with ATX mojaves that are

18x9.5 wheel size
6 on 5.5 bolt pattern
Backspace = 4.31in.

Will the tires work? Can I use my stock tires at 265/65-18 on them?

I doubt that the 265/65/18's are approved for use on 9.5" rims. You can check on the tire manufacturers website.

Either way those wheels are going to stick out 3" more than stock and will likely lead to rubbing on the outer edge of the tire.

If you want to run the 265/65/18's you should look at wheels that are 8-8.5" wide (in some cases you can run 9", check the tire manufactuered website), with around 5.0 backspacing give or take.

Alright, latest scheme is a 17x9 with 5" backspacing and new Duratracs 265/70/17

Also I'm pretty new so excuse me if I'm naive but the guys at 4wheel parts said that I could run into a problem with my VSC if I move from the stock 18" rim. is this true?

 

A good rule of thumb is to believe the exact opposite of anything 4wp says....ever. You will be fine moving from a 18 to a 17.

Did you check that the duratracs are approved for 9" wide rims in the 265/70?

 

Also, the link you provided has a wheel with 4.75" BS, not 5.

And I checked on the duratracs, they are only approved up to 8.5" rims.

I hope they clear the caliper, many black rock wheels do not, even in 17".

 

Just got them installed last night and managed to shoot a crappy iphone pic before the sun went down. Very slight rubbing in a right turn but I think a dremel should take care of that this weekend. Next mod will probably be a hard or soft shell with a 3" lift this Summer.

 

PS I checked with Black Rock before the wheels came in. I guess their earlier version had some trouble with caliper clearance but they fixed it months ago. There was a fitment guide on their Website at blackrockwheels.com it was a little hard to find but they've done the test fitting.
