Amazon and Gamestop have 12 mo of xbox live again, this time for $40. Still not a bad deal. Current non-gold members deal is $25 for 6 months, which is nothing special.

I'm waiting it out until the weekend to see if they have 2 months for $2 again, although usually that means we are going to have a natural disaster like an electricity crippling hurricane or a tree-destroying snow storm . Yep, thats the last time I saw those offers...

Thanks for the note! My last $1 for 1 month gold membership just expired...just in time for me to use this $2 for 2 month deal!!! And I still have my $35 full year code from a few months ago that I got from Amazon! Sweet! This month-to-month deal for $1/month has been going on since at least the end of last summer, perhaps disappearing for a few weeks only to reappear. Month-to-month is the only way to go that makes sense to me right now.

There is no link, you need to be a standard silver, or otherwise in non-gold status for xbox live...and the $2 for 2 month deal will show up on your xbox dashboard. The only catch is you must cancel it before the membership auto-renews for $10 per month, which is easy enough to do now either through the various xbox menus or directly online. Unless you were only using pre-paid membership cards, you had to call and cancel up until this past December, but they now provide that cancel function online now.
