Goodness, haha well she loves riding around on the moped (zx6-r) so I'm thinking taking a ride out near the lake shore where there are some really cool dutch style villages. There is this one area that has a large pond and a bad ass bridge that crosses the center of it. Just one of the many ideas lol

    Congrats!

    From a bitter divorcee...
    - long engagements are an excellent idea (at least a year.. trust me you'll need it for all the planning)
    - if there are things you really dislike about each other they wont change...
    - never get "comfy" in the relationship. Keep the spark alive! Stay best friends!! (Seems like you are if you enjoy the same things and all)

My ex husband and I did everything together. Had GREAT times! Got married and the things I hated about the relationship just seemed to grow and the good times seemed to shorten. Ended up sitting on the couch every single night watching him play xbox. Couldn't even get him to go riding or take a walk with me. Always too cold or too hot. Couldn't even get him to compliment me after I worked my ass off at the gym. That's when I had enough.

Lost my house and just about everything in it and MY motorcycle (2009 CBR1000RR) because it was in both our names and I couldn't refinance it to get his name off (honda does not allow you to drop a co signer) THAT hurt :( But hey i'm MUCH happier now - a little more confident - and now we are back to being friends!

Everyone told him to say goodbye to his toys too. He said "she has the same toys.. and wants more". he kept all of his toys.. all the mods I put on them.. and my toys! lol To be fair his half of some money we earned did go into my STi that I did get. (only got my car, bed, and a tv). Didn't want to make it a headache - just wanted out.

BUT all the raining on the parade aside ;) Marriage can be a wonderful thing!! I really wish the best for you both! Just take your time and enjoy every moment! Both still young!

Thanks for the response Nikki, always nice to hear a ladies point of view too.

Communication and respect are key, I watched that tear my parents apart and won't let that happen to my relationship.

Congrats dude! A little advice, go buy all the toys you want now because it's much harder to get them after you are married. :)

I'm sure she will be coming along on the trail rides we do from now on. No more working weekends for her.

And parts for my bike are on order so that is taken care of for a while scottri.

Congratulations! It is not always easy but if you find the right person the rewards are worth the effort it takes to listen, explain your side, and solve the problems together.
