I didn't have to talk mine into it at all. Her brother in law in PA bought one and she had to have one.

You will not win trying to educate a woman on anything. It makes no difference how much more or less you may know about the subject at hand.

But you might get to say "told you so, nanner nanner nanner" at a later date.:)

I'm going to toss in my girl's 2 cents here.

LET her pick her own car? You did NOT say that!! Surely I misread it?

I researched and test drove vehicles for 3 months before I decided on the Tacoma (which is actually what I had originally intended to get anyway, but no harm in making sure, right?). I don't know what every button in my truck does, but I had the criteria that were important to me and I stuck to them, and in the end I went with a Tacoma. Before that I had a Corolla, so I was already happy with Toyotas anyway.

It's a big purchase, and you should agree on what you will get. But you can't boss her arround or "allow" her to pick it for herself (condescending much?) and expect her to feel happy about it. It's just kind of a sh!tty attitude. I'm assuming your wife is fairly intelligent and a capable individual? So if she doesn't get to have a say in her vehicle she'll rightfully be upset about it. You're basically telling her she's an idiot who can't be trusted with big decisions. I'd be furious. Tell her why you are concerned about the car she wants, make some suggestions about other models she might be happier with, and work together to agree on it. If you keep that sort of attitude that you should allow her to pick or you can tell her what she'll drive, to her it won't be about the vehicle choice, she'll be upset about the fact that you don't seem to think she's capable of choosing a vehicle. And at the end of the day, she's driving it. So put your testosterone away and work on this one together, k? Thanks.

And if you say anything about groceries, kitchens, laundry, or her making a sandwich, I hope she divorces you. :D

I wouldn't let my wife/girlfriend buy a Government motors corporation anything....but thats a different issue...

Try to convince her the Honda is a better vehicle...cuz it is.

And +1 to the person before who said that it needs to be a decision that both of you are on board with. Its a big investment that shouldn't be made on one persons desires, no matter who makes what money.

Luckily my girlfriend is just as big of a toyota fan as I am...so we will have no issues with matters like these :D She wants an FJC...I am okay with that
