I have a couple of questions for you guys who have put Hella 500s behind your grills.
I’m planning on pendant mounting some lights on my Taco & I have questions:
First is on the Hella web site they show mounting options & only list upright.
I have seen a number of photos of hella’s on this forum with the lights mounted
Pendant not upright. I can think of two reasons why hella states only upright mounting
One is the beam pattern of the light or possibility a vent at the bottom of the lamp to prevent
condensation. Anyway for those of you who have hella’s is the beam pattern off if mount pendant
Or do the lamps collect water & become fish bowls. I tried to talk to hella but just got some guy
Reading from a FAQ sheet. So basically have you guys had any problems with your hella’s
    If not mounted upright?

You should be fine. I have mounted Hellas sideways with no problems. What beam pattern are your lights tho? If you mount them sideways you might get a weird beam pattern
