265/65-17 vs. 265/70-17

    Hello all,
    I am a new owner of a '09 pre runner with steelies. I got a hold of the 17" trd wheels which are normally fitted with 265/65-17s. I was wondering on the opinions of people who have put 70's on instead. Ride, comfort, handling. Also wanted to make sure there are no problems with rubbing, I know it is about an inch in height difference. Thanks for any help in my descision.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Being as the 70 series has a taller sidwall, it will have a beter ride. More compliant.

    Shouldnt be. The tires are the same width, and only going up 1" in height. You should be good.

    i changed from 65s to 70s. pluses are more aggressive look, more tread on the road. minus is reduced gas mileage. no issues though.

    How much loss of miles. I did that swap to 70s and getting 14mpg is it normal. what tire pressure should I be running at ?

    Add 3.4% to the milage from your ODO, then divide by the gallons consumed. Us ethe Chalk method to determine propper tire pressure.

    with the taller tire my odo is about a mile off every 25 miles now. However, my speedo is dead-on compared to the gps.
