    Winch, front hitch, step bars, bed extender, bed step, gull-wing toolbox, tailgate lock, security system, cb radio, etc.
    Actually, they're mostly used by contractors engaged in construction or similar activities, but may also be used occasionally by military personnel or military civilian employees doing somewhat similar work. Since these types of activities are rarely done in extremely risky areas, the vehicles are only lightly armored to guard against casual risk.

    What he said. Although they are used for everything by everyone. We used them to ride to work on base in AFG, or take a quick trip down the road to another base. MIlitary and Civilian/Contractor. Some bases have such a small US presence they don't keep HMMWV's or MRAPs there since there isn't any support to maintain them and these are the easiest way to get around. Also, some will have gun ports in the rear windows. Basically a steel box inside a regular window with a sliding door. And they are definitely hot as shit since most of the time you don't ride around in them long enough to let the A/C cool them down. Not to mention 4" of glass holds a shit ton of heat once it's been baking in the sun all afternoon.
