    Not to throw stones here but how often do you guys who have no troubles actually use your 4wd? I use mine 2-4 times a day, 10-20 miles a day, just to get off the mountain where we live. After four years it's dying (and it has had new synthetic fluid every year). Toyota probably figured the 4wd would be used rarely so it would be a safe place to cut costs.

    thats definitely not the case here.. I use it a few times a month, when on wheeling trips.

    My truck was in the dealership 3 times for this problem before I even hit 24,000 miles.
