Tire Problems??

Question - I dont know if I have the worse luck in the world or something is wrong with my Tires. (note - I am not a mechanic and dont have a lot of knowledge with working with vehicles)

I have a new 2011 Tacoma - I live in PA which everyone knows its winter. I did have the tire pressure light come on several times, I know there was a recall but when I took it to the dealership the stated "yours was not of the recalls on the part".

Two weeks ago I had a flat tire in the front right. - ( Decided to take advantage of the Road Side Assistance - lol - First person who came did not know how to lower the spare tire, said it was a malfunction. He told me I would have to get it towed to the dealership - so when I was on the phone with Roadside again, he came over to me told me he is leaving etc... Thought Nothing of it - until I seen my truck up on the jack and my tire leaning against my truck, - opps, to late - he is gone!).

Second guy came from Roadside - Towed my truck to the dealership - they were able to get my spare tire down within a minute. First Roadside Assist should have used the "Hook" side instead of using the square to turn it down.

Anyway..... I just was on the way home from work today - BOOM - Flat tire in my driver side rear tire now. When they fixed the first flat the dealership said there was a hole in the tire, most likely from a nail.... the truck is now at a Jack Williams Tire and Auto Center getting fixed. I will get the truck back tomorrow - is there any problems with these tires? or..... do I just have the worse luck to get two flat tires within a weeks time....

Piece of Shale - Hard to believe it went right through the tire and they only have about 16,000 miles on the tire!

What brand of tires? IF Dunlops, get rid of them as fast as you can.

My old F-150 had an aging set of BFG A/Ts. I was off-roading in this one area and put a piece of shale similar to yours through the sidewall. Replaced all four tires since they were wearing thin. Testing out the new tires in the same off-roading area I put another piece of shale through the sidewall of the same position tire. Had to replace that one with another new tire. Needless to say, I don't go to that spot anymore.

 

Yeah - just trying to make it a 2 week period without a flat tire, lol - guess you just have to keep on keeping on!
