This my second pair of columbia shoes. I like everything about then except the bottom of the shoe. It wears to fast. I'm not sure if is the arizona terrain or they just wear fast.

Get something with a Vibram sole (like Merrell's) - they last forever!

same here. I've put a lot of miles on mine and they've held up well but they have been hurting my feet as of late and I'm getting blisters on my heels. For some reason the insole is rubbing my foot raw. I have some new insoles that I am going to try though, hopefully that will solve the problem.

If any of you have high archs try Pedag Viva or Vitality insoles - I swear by them. They feel a little weird at first, like you're walking on a golf ball, but you get used to it. Amazon has them.

I'm looking at a Coleman stove for my birthday...Something big enough I can actually grill something but still can fit into a small space in my bed of my truck...Propane or Liquid Fuel? And I'd like to spend under $100 if possible.

Anyone have one that they like? I just have my backpacking stove right now and for fishing trips with 3 guys it doesn't get the job done quiet like I want it to. :)

I fell pretty hard out of love with my merrells, use to buy there top of the line high boot (dont remember the name) for about 4 years straight. i wore them literally every day working construction, hiking, weekends, everywhere. the first two pairs were great, lasted over a year which is all i could expect from them. the last two pairs only lasted about 8 months each, thought maybe i got a defective pair.

started talking to some sales guys and doing some research on them. the exact time my merrels started to fall apart on me is when they moved there manufacturing to china, cheaper materials are being used, mainly cheaper glues, so everywhere the rubber soles meet the upper material they would seperate, to the point i could get my fingers inside the boots.

my advice is to stay away from merrel now, they used to be all i bought and wore, ended up switching to asolo's. crazy expensive, but i get two years out of a pair with constant abuse.

I must have gotten one of the last 'good' pairs...mine are holding up well other than the insole and I don't really expect those to hold up in any shoe. The only part of the sole that is separating on mine was my own fault..left them too close to the fire trying to dry them out (not waterproof! LOL) and it melted a little.

Well I have the Goretex ones and they are supposed to be waterproof...they're not. But I found that out at our meet last June when it rained for three days. That was when I melted the sole trying to dry them by the fire too.
