I had a week off at Christmas and started cruising the internet. A co-worker has a 2010 DCSB sport, so the next thing I know - I am test driving an 09 4.0 and really like it. I am excited about the increased gas mileage and only 17K miles on it. I traded my 07 F-150 Crew cab and took it home. I really like it but mildy disappointed with the 17 MPGs, but I guess its not too bad, since I have read some here getting 12-15. Anyway the next thing was to start modding.. I got window visors, a bug deflector and westin stainless steel oval signature step bars. I have an avid light bar coming and will put some driving lights up there. I am going to the dealership next Friday for the TSB leafs. I have been lurking around here for about a month. Oh - I did buy some cheapo floor mats, but thinking of getting some Huskies for front and back, also really want some seat covers. Oh well gotta go slow - it doesnt grow on trees, no matter what the little lady thinks.

Congrats. Now about that 17mpg thing, that SHOULD only be in town. With a stock taco, you should be hitting at a min 20-21 interstate.

Well I am trying - keep the tach around 15-18K and dont drive hard, the co-worker I referenced, gets better average. thinking about ripping out the secondary air filter and I have seen recommendations of disconnecting the battery to reset the electronics. Also have pondered new spark plugs, but not sure how much good it would do. I drive mostly highway 14 miles to work and a little stop and go, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was around 14-16 on the Ford, I just did change the plugs on it too, and didnt break one single plug - which is quite an accomplishment. I had a 1997 short bed Toyota truck 4 cyl and got about 30 MPGs - so I sort of set myself up for the mild disappointment, but hey I look at it as one of my babies and I definately wont give it back, haha.

I got my TSB leaf springs installed today, before measurement was 21.25 and after was 23. Rides a lot more like the old Ford now, I like the firm feeling. [IMG]
