I noticed too at the screw holes at the front of the cover that the internal material appears to be a crush foam like you'd find in a motorcycle helmet (no more cardboard).

Cool. At least they are riveted now! I'd heard they switched to foam. Without the stress from the gas struts on rivets then that foam core should be fine. I don't see anything that's riveted to the cover and would risk being pulled out now.
