Well I just pulled the trigger on my neighbors truck that I've wanted for years. It's a 1984 Toyota Pickup 4x4 five speed. The truck has been sitting for 4 years. He has a detroit locker in the rear (spool type) and a gearless locker with new gaskets and seals for the front axle. It has a new/rebuilt? transmission with a new clutch. 32 inch beefy tires on black steel wheels. I paid 1100. I plan on making this an ongoing project. My first goal is to get it running. What do you guys think?

Haha alright guys I haven't actually got it yet. I walked over to his house today and asked if he was still trying to sell it. He's got like 2 or 3k in it and he said awhile ago he wanted 2k for it but said 1500 today. I offered him 1000. So we ended up shaking hands on 1100 (so long as my parents are ok with me finding a place to put it.....19 and still live at home btw). Well I told both of them and they said yeah whatever. So he should be coming over tomorrow to settle everything. Pics tomorrow if all goes well! I feel I paid a fair amount and if I wanted to I could turn around and sell it as is for more considering how desirable these are (even though I don't plan on it). Anyone have opinions?

Lol well I took two years of auto at a technical school. Worked in the truck shop at a dealership for a year. And now I fix the diesel engines on choo-choo trains.
