Hello all, I just installed the Eclipse AVN62D HU. I hear it is the same exact HU as the Eclipse AVN6620. Anyway, it was an easy plug and play install as I just used my factory wire harnesses to plug right into the HU. Everything seems to work fine, but I have an issue with the DVD portion. When I insert a DVD, the audio plays fine, but there is no video. This happens when the car is parked or in motion. It just shows the wallpaper while the audio from the DVD is playing. I've tried 10 different DVDs and I get the same result. Does anyone know how to fix this? I hope this isn't a lemon.

Did you run the brake bypass to ground?

It does not show video with the e-brake on or off. All I did for this install was plug the factory wires into the HU. I did not ground anything as I wasn't aware of doing that. I thought it was just simple plug and play. Can you guys explain further on the ebrake wire that I need to ground? Is it part of the wire harness? Im a bit of a noobie to this. Thanks for your replies.

There will be a green wire on the back of the unit, at least that was the color on mine. If you wire it to the parking brake you can only play it while its set. Or you can do a parking brake bypass. Get an on off locking switch, little 4 prong red one from Radioshack, and what you have to do is wire one to the ground, and the other one goes into the harness I believe. Then hook it up. Pretty simple.

My deal is that my car, while in park, still wont display DVD video with the parking brake already on. So, grounding the parking brake wire is required to watch DVDs?

There will be a wire coming out of the eclipse that says, "parking brake" just connect that to the factory ground on the wiring harness. Should work like a champ after that.

Thanks everyone for your help. I installed the harness and grounded the parking wire and now my DVD player works in drive or park. But now I am having an issue with my navigation. I mounted the antenna in the car, and it knows that Im moving because I can see it on the navi while im driving, but my problem now is that it shows im in california when im actually in nevada. I dont know what else to try. Thanks again for your replies.
