    shit's yeah you should.

i understand that it comes back to "freedom of expression" but NO ONE should claim they earned something, but actually did not.

i had a good friend who got fryed for a picture...

he went home on leave, to Chicago, wanted to impress him family by applying an air warfare pin, as well as a surface warfare pin, and a few more ribbons. nothing THAT serious, but still punishable under UCMJ because he DID NOT earn that shit.

I'm probably in the minority in the military on this one...but we don't need MORE laws...We need to do a better job enforcing the ones we have already. Fraud is already illegal...so if someone tells a tall tale about military accolades for personal (read: $, items, services) benefit- That is fraud. Otherwise- People lie about being doctors, lawyers, porn stars, etc all the time...That isn't illegal. Immoral- Yes...but if we are going to legislate morality- then it should be across the board...and that is a dangerous precident...so I say we scrap the SVA and use the laws we have already more effectively.

Kid at my little brothers high school wore Marine Corps dress blues to prom because he "wants" to be a Marine. Those of you who haven't served, I'm sorry but if you say it's no big deal, hey, maybe it's nbd to you, but what we've earned and bled for is important to us as brothers in arms. I wouldn't whoop this "SEAL wannabe" or anything but I guarantee any SEAL I've met would at least take the kid in private and explain to him how insulting and disrespectful his actions are.

What he did is wrong and contrary to mother's of America beliefs, it is right to correct someone who is wrong.

I agree that it sounds like "Not a big Deal" but to some of us its very heart breaking. I had another guy on another forum ask me about the Army. I then read a bunch of his post sating that he was a Army Ranger. He also said he was wounded in Iraq. I quickly busted him out and he said it was another person on his account that posted that.

I was pissed like no other. The bad thing is I got banned from that forum for using curse words and other members were telling me that I was being childish for arguing with him about it. That really pissed me off and I dont go on that forum anymore. Lots of D-bags do this shit. I stopped going to group therapy because most of them were fakers. Try to get money and never did shit in their lives. Ugh I feel my BP rising just typing this shit out.

Really? Blues to prom? WOW! Was it TW that someone posted the Marine wannabe that had on no shit, pleated dockers?

It does bother me a bit that ppl do this, but then again there is far worse that ppl do on a daily basis and get away with. Part of the problem is that the vast majority of the public knows next to nothing about the military. I tell ppl I was an Officer and they ask, "so you were a cop in the military?" Then they ask where you stationed and I say Del Rio on the Mexican border....they're like wow what's going on there? I can tell them whatever the fuck I want like bombing drug cartels, and they would never know that it's just a training base.

I just hate stupid questions (there is such a thing)

    Were you in the Marines?
    Yeah
Did you kill anybody? Did a lot of your friends die?
Oh hey, thanks for rehashing bad memories. Did your dad ever beat you? How about your mother? Oh you wouldn't wanna blatantly talk about that with a stranger who's never experienced it. . . My bad
