Resurrecting this old thread with an update.

Wife and I moved to Denver in April 2011.

Still waiting on the house in KY to sell due to the stupid housing market :frusty:

We both ended up with jobs at the University of Colorado Hospital

Currently live on the Aurora side of Denver... and yes, it's ghetto-ish. Once our house sells, we will buy someplace near Littleton or Highlands Ranch.

Loving the snow, the mountains, the BEER, the active tacomaworld community, and the food! I'm still adjusting to the green chili though...

The only thing about KY that I miss is probably the good people I know there. Other than that, there is so much more to do in Colorado than Kentucky! My wife and I don't regret moving here and are going to be here for a while! :D

My girlfriend and I are looking into Castle Rock, maybe even some places closer to the city, but we both want 3+ acres, so that is a limiting factor. Have you taken any day trips, or weekend trips outside of Denver, what are the options? Obviously people are into different things, but she is under the impression outside of Denver "everything" is at least 12 hours away. Any suggestions to help sway her away from all the negativity?

She is from Washington state and I am from upstate NY, so the snow will be refreshing, but I need to start getting a list of "things to do outside of the city" ready for a potential road trip next year.

I know how you feel, I'll be moving back to Denver (Golden) in less than 15 months. I like Tulsa, but Denver I love!

I really like Evergreen! Right now it's a pity that I work at University of Colorado Hospital out in Aurora and it's too far to commute :( There's some seriously crappy traffic out here  If I end up working out in Wheatridge, I'll definitely be considering Golden or Evergreen!

Golden FTW! 30 minutes to boulder, 30 minutes to denver, and right next to i6 for easy access to the mountains!
