Blair Witch Project

It was set in Burkittsville, MD, about 25 miles from my haus.
But it was filmed in Gaitherburg, MD (roughly 30 miles the other way, as the crow flies)

 

Now that I live down here in Clearwater, the movie "A dolphin's tale" was filmed just about in my back yard.

 

Had a few great tv shows filmed close by Discovery channels Moonshiners was filmed just up the road from my house, and The Andy Griffith Show was filmed about 45 minutes away

 

forgot about tv.

The stupid show Lizard Lick Towing is just few miles from where i live. i see those guys on 264 hwy a lot.

and the show Swamp Loggers is about 60 miles from me. friend of mine knows some of those guys.

but you won with andy griffith for sure. one of the best shows ever. fun fact - after the show finished filming, the actress who played thelma lou acutally moved to mount airy, nc because she liked it so much

 

The Kingdom was filmed at an air base a few miles from my house. Crazy seeing the temporary set and how real it looked on camera

Clint Eastwood's Firefox was partially shot in San Diego (Miramar).

I was working on the F14 Flight Simulator at the time (I worked mids so I didn't actuallly get to meet him). He rode in it in the beginning of the movie. I knew the woman who was in the movie telling him he was "Slightly left of glide slope" (he was actually slightly right in the movie). They did so many clips but whoever edited it either didn't care or didn't know to sync up the left and right problem.

 

No movies near me but it amazes me what people think of for threads on here haha. Nice idea OP!

Contagion (2011) - filmed down the street from work at the CDC.

 

The first few minutes of episode 2 (season 1) of Grimm was filmed in the lab of my nursing school in Clackamas. We have a mock ER. It is pretty cool. My teacher is in the episode and she is also a medical adviser for the show. Leverage is another show that is currently being filmed around here.

There have been a lot of movies filmed around the Portland area.

 

CW's- Vampire Diaries is filmed here in GA, somewhere out towards Augusta.

Once again, not a movie, but the NBC show Grimm is filming all over the place in my neighborhood, and also 1 block from where I work, as well as other parts of downtown Portland. I work at Enterprise and they actually rented one of our 15 passenger Ford vans yesterday for crew transport.

 

Alot of them have been filmed here in Annapolis and Eastern Shore area.
