Hello all, I have a 2005 tacoma v6 4wd. tuesday morning it lost all oil pressure. oil level is good, changed oil filter, thats not the problem. truck has 55k on it. My understanding is that the oil pump is bullet proof. Any ideas what else it could be? Only thing I can think of is the oil strainer came loose. Would that cause a no oil pressure situation? Any help at all would be welcomed.

I had this same problem in my 2000 Dakota- I had a gasket shred and clog the oil sump. I would not drive that truck ANYWHERE until you a) have a dealership/auto shop look at it or b) drop the oil pan yourself.

Like the other guy said don't run it! No oil means your engine will fail. It could be the pump. It could be the sensor that meausures presure has failed. I don't know anything about checking those items though.
