you know what I've had an issue like that but it only happens on cold cold mornings i stay at my girlfriends house and my taco has to sleep out side.... u twist the key and u get whadadaddaadadadada so i stop and cocked my head at it 600 miles it should not be doing this. twisted the key again and got whadadadada cough cough brroooommm and it idied hard for a minute or two. i think it has something to do with the cold valve suction can't really remember what my grandfather said, but he had the same issue with his Boxster. mine has done it twice since but not recently

I wouldn't call this "normal" but maybe "typical" since a good many of us seem to have the issue, with seemingly various frequencies. Mine does this a few times a year for no apparent reason. It seems to happen like once every couple of weeks for a couple of months, then not again for a long time. No common timing or weather/temperature condition AFAIK. No way to track down the possible cause when it is so intermittent. IIRC there was a TSB for this issue for earlier (2008?) models but I don't think it applies to later years.

Turn the ignition on for a few seconds, then it will start up right away. I guess it takes a second or two to the the pump and computer going.

I had a Chevy that the blower motor did not chirped in either but it was hard to push when the fuel pump, ign module, coil pack, (insert any other issue you can think of here). A 5 sec. crank is a non issue.

I've had this happen twice on my 2012. Both times I noticed I had left the defrost or AC switched on.
