Alright, I have a couple of questions. First C. Brown, how has the handling and ride quality been affected? Is it now lumber wagon harsh, or is it still reasonable? Any other thoughts?

Second, I've read in a couple of places about the shackle flip kit. Does anyone have a source for it? Does anyone here have any experience with it? Unless I am misunderstanding something major here, it seems as though the shackle kit along with an accompanying longer shock absorber should give a few inches of lift while maintaining the stock spring setup. ideas?

I'm fixing to buy a regular cab 5 lug tacoma this week, and I would like it to sit a few inches taller. I've never lifted a truck before, but I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum for the last few days, and it seems like the Fat Bob kit is the way to go on the 5 lug trucks if budget is an issue, which it is. The #1 complaint about the kit is that, with the increase in spring tension in the rear, the ride quality suffers.

It seems like the shackle kit, if it actually exists, would be the way to go on the rear along with the shocks from the Fat Bob kit. Spacers up front, along with some longer bump stops (source anybody), and I could hold the aal spring in reserve in case I decided that I wanted to raise the rear end a bit more, or add more payload capacity.

Am I way off base here? Line me out guys. Thanks.
