Nice pics!! I almost bought the newer 12' Pungo before I bought my current yak. Just couldn't pull off the $700 price tag. Wish I had waited till I could though. I am getting ready to sell my perception 11' and get an sit on top W.S. They make some great boats.

Agreed, we are very happy with ours . The seat is great with the 3 way adjustments. We bought the lifejacket that matches the seat so you are not sitting on the lifejacket at all. We have the 2/3 skirt for the cold days too, works very well.
    Cheers

Hey I feel you. That little 14ft john boat has a deck built into it, wood over most all the metal, and seats. It weighs like 35412.5 lbs! Its a monster to try a tote or drag somewhere. Me and brother both almost died trying to pull that thing up a small bank one day  And I'm not no little boy either! But I'm still checking out the market, waitin on my truck to sell so I can get my other one and then use the left over monies! (yes i'm selling my v6 Tacoma, but I'm getting a 4cyl Tacoma)

I think i asked this a few years ago, but this thread has much more attention now.

I'm 6' 220lbs. Looking for a kayak. My son is 3 1/2. I would love to be able to put him between my legs and take him around with me sometimes. It would be mainly used to just paddle around the small ponds and lakes here. Fish out of it sometimes.

$300-$400 for starters. If i can get the wife into it, maybe we will get some nicer ones later on, but for now, just to get started, that is my budget.

I thought about this one a year or so ago.

I would check out some of the sit on tops at bass pro. They have good room and you guys wont be right on top of each other. I know their nicer model 12' ascend is about 500 so they definitely have something in your price range.

I had a 10 foot sit in waterquest which was nice but alittle long so I just bought a pelican apex 80 sit ontop (of course in red). It should be much easier to clean and operate in I havnt modded it yet but I want out riggers, hatch, rod holders, mlk crate, etc....... BTW its 26 pounds!!! I can throw it lol.

Nice! I would LOVE for my yak to be 26 lbs. After a full day of paddling, my arms are so shot and it just about kills me to lift that 56 lb yak on top of the roof rack.

I would like 59lbs....mine is 79lbs. That is going to hurt after a 20 mile day.

X2. That's a plus about a truck though, all I have to do now is get one end on the tail gate and you're in.

Dooooooooo eeet! Honestly though... look for either used, a 2nd factory outlet(thats where I got mine), or one of the kayak festival/paddle shows where deals are good.

Id say the sierra if you want dry storage. I dont have much knowledge with those 2 lines though. Your a taller guy though so i think as far as leg space goes, the swifty may be better.

I'd say neither. Go to cabelas or REI and look into the Emotion Glide. Just by my years worth of trying to figure out which one i want.
