that article is from 2002 and outdated. I would hands down chose a AR over a mini-14.

I would agree, but it all comes down to preference, if you don't like the mini then sell it, I am way to connected to everything I have except for my Mosins Nagant and it isn't worth selling because it is worth $100 and it is more of a hassle to sell it. I could see selling something that I hated or just never shot if it was modern like a Mini 14 or AR, but most of my guns are from WWII so they are rare. Modern guns are much easier to buy and sell.

Truth. I've never experienced this regret because I've never sold a gun.

I'm not that knowledgable on Rugers, but I get the feeling the Mini-14 is more of an off the beaten path item. Already popular long before the black rifle craze hit over the last how many years. Seems like something slightly less common that might increase in interest over the years.

I think I would hold on to that one.

The one I miss the most was a Thomson Center Contender, way back when they were not very well known, (1980). Traded it at a show for a S&W 422 .22 semi-auto, it was a plug. Traded that in on a Ruger MKII Governmevt Stainless Slab Side, (6 7/8 barrel) topped with a 2.5x scope, it'll hold it's own with .22 rifles, off a sandbag, of course.

I think anyone who has ever been a collector or avid firearms owner regrets selling one at some point. i have a few that I wish I could get back. Mainly my Springfield M1A National Match.

I love my little P22, they had some issues, I broke mine completely down before firing a round and done all the mods as listed on rimfirecentrel.com and it's ran great. Ruger has a new sweet looking little .22 that's reads to be promising, appears the very same size as a P22.
