Had to relocate the mounts after I realized there would have rubbed the boot too much. They just clear now and should work out well. Im going to delay the skid project now and move onto UCA bushings and CB Antenna set-up.

    Nice

That's where the TC instructions say to locate the strap as well for their LT kits too, pretty sure anyways!

Really need to get some straps on mine

Thanks meng! Glad TC confirms my location. I followed Mike mjp2 lead on this. After going through it, there is really only one place for these things and stock LCA's. They have to be at the perfect angle and location.

Say good bye to goofy hand signals and horn honking in the woods! ;)

Been meaning to hook up a CB in the truck for a while now. I went and purchased Midland 75-822 portable CB, 4' NGP Firestik, SS spring mount and NGP COAX cable. I wanted something that could be put away when not using and usable in other places other than the truck . The midland seems to be the perfect fit.

The install was really straight forward. The antenna is mounted to a tab I welded onto the bed bars. The cable runs down the bed track, through the cubby, down the top of the truck frame and up under the passenger seat. Inside the cab it runs along the door sill, behind the glove box and tucks behind the console. Not much adjustment needed to occur with the antenna after tuning with the SWR meter. I got 1.6 on channel 1, 1.1 on channel 20 and 1.25 on channel 40.

I wanted the antenna mounted in the middle of the bed so it didn't wack the cab after going through low hanging tree branches. I think you were the one that sold me on that idea at Stokes.... hahaha. I read about a lot of people having issues with it mounted near the middle with a ground plane antenna so, I went with the NGP. I'm not looking for real long range... only with you goofs on the trail. It should be good for a mile or so.... we shall see.

:p one more person to keep you on the trail.

This weekend I took my LR UCAs out, removed the old bushings, repainted the UCA's and installed the new pivot style bushings from SPC. One of the bushings was completely detached from the UCA and another was pretty close to being detached. The rest of them were ok. No more funny knocking sounds from old loose bushings. Heres the write up and how to. LR Bushing How to

Here are some pics of North JRZ wheeling. I never take or post pics of wheeling so, here it is. Ill try to take more pics in the future. Its a fun place. Lots of rock (much like RC) and plenty of technical hill climbs which I really enjoy.
