wiring harness for fog light switch

Hey wats going on its my first time using this thing, but im curious if anyone has or know where i can purchase a wiring harness for the rear of the fog light switch, already have the switch just need the back harness. Trying to keep the stock look. Thanx

 

I've got one that came with a retrofit that I did (it was the wiring harness from The Retrofit Source. It should have the same connection for the OEM fog lights (I can confirm when I get back home). It's got everything you'd need besides the switch and in-line fuse (relays, wiring with enough length to make the runs and the plugs). If it's the right connection, I'll sell it for $10 shipped to you. If you want it, let me know.

Otherwise, you could probably get just the connection at an autoparts store such as Napa, Autozone or Advanced.

Crap, hold on, I misread your post... I thought you were looking for the rear of the housing (where the bulbs plugs in). Sorry, read it too fast

If you already have a fog light switch, you don't need a harness, just connect directly to the switch's prongs sticking out the back. It's a little tedious, but it does work.

From the top of the switch, here's the order you'd need to connect things to it:
1. Top - ground
2. Power input
3. Illumination power
4. Bottom - Power output

 

No problem. The thing is i installed 4 hella off road lights and ran them to a flip switch, with a positve and negative wire. i figured if i get the harness i could splice the wires and connect it directly to the switch. How would i directly attach the two wires into the 4 prongs

 

Your positive wire coming in would go to #2 - Power Input, the Negative (or ground) would go to #1 - Ground. #4 is your power output going to the lights when the switch is on and #3 you can pull where ever you want. #3 powers the bulb inside the switch so, for a factory look, you'd need to tap into a circuit that's hot when the lights are turned on (that way the switch lights up when your lights are on). Even with the harness, you're still going to have 4 wires to run, it's just easier to connect them to the switch at the end.

You can attach the wires using small female connectors or by soldering directly to the switch's tabs.

thanks alot,i just bought the switch and connector on ebay and the dealer didnt know where the wires went for my fog lights in a 2011 toyota tacoma.......

 

Fog lights shouldn't be pushing 10 amps

45W fog light bulbs would only draw 7.5 amps. You're right though, the lower amperage you could put through the switch, the better.

 

Since he said he was running 4 hella offroad lights through the circuit, he might need to worry about that 10 amps.
