Installing chain link fence

Anyone have experience or advice? I'm considering an install, possibly doing it myself or just paying someone to do it. I have no knowledge of it. I have done a couple of half a$$ repairs at my old house to fix from fallen trees. How hard in it to do and is it worth the hassle vs paying a professional? Not sure of the distance yet, will have to measure. Also have one existing side providing the neighbors don't mind me linking to theirs. Has to have decorative front facing the road per homeowners association. And want 2 drive through gates and one walk through. Just guessing at the length of install I'd say about a total of 400 ft with one of the drive through gates being the decorative part on one side of the house and the other side of the house being decorative with a walk through there of about 30 ft. Looking at a 4 ft tall black chain link. Any ideas of cost installed or done myself? Thanks in advance.

 

Attaching to your neighbor's post is preferable. I just got done removing a chainlink fence that was right next to the neighbor's chainlink fence. The 2 running parallel allowed weeds to grow in between them that could not be easily mowed/removed. As for cost I would estimate about 3500-4000 installed. You're looking at 40+ posts, 2 driveway gates, 1 walk-in gate, 430+ feet on fencing, and hardware. It has been over a year since I bought vinyl covered chainlink, but when I did it was $3.50 a foot, though that was 6ft. Posts are between 8-20 a piece, and gates between 30-200+.

The hardest part about doing it yourself is making it straight. Start with the corners, dig them, cement the posts exactly where they need to be and exactly level. Run a straight line between the corner posts and dig the holes for the posts in between using this line. When cementing these posts make sure they are level and barely touching this line.
