I looked for some answers on here, but only found talk on OME and Rough Country shocks for a 1988 Toyota Pickup 4x4. I wouldn't mind running Rough Country shocks on my Pickup, but I really would want to run 5100's on all four corners. I found fronts and rears for my truck on 4wheelparts.com but I was wondering if anyone knows if I will have a problem running them with no lift to 1 inch of lift? Since they say to run with lifted trucks. I currently am running 31's and do some off roading when the weather is nice, but most of my driving is city. I know for sure that my rear shocks are toast, the passenger side is leaking oil pretty good. So what do you guys think?

Jesus lol. Na 85 was the last year of solid axle with leaf springs, and then 86 to 95 were torsion bar with shocks up front. 95.5 when the Tacoma came out was the first year of the coil over shock style IFS

To answer you're question from 846 years ago. You should be fine with those shocks :rofl:

@tacobell007 alright chief, this is the dilemma. My coworkers truck was stolen and they just found it in a dump yard. Looking at the driver's side (1st pic) looks like it's missing a shock and on the passenger's side (2nd pic) its missing everything.. Was wondering if he could get some 5100s on this bad boy to have it back and running or if it has some weird type of suspension going on.. Is he missing a torsion bar?file1-17.jpg file-26.jpg

Thanks lol, the truck had 5100s on all 4 corners at one point back in 2012 when I still had it.

Yea he can get the shocks, I believe I went through summit racing for them. Both sides appear to all be there, the passenger side is hard to see components in the pic. Driver side the torsion bar (coming off the UCA towards the back of the truck) and the shock are definitely still there
