Is a turbo on an automatic bad?

Generally speaking, turbos on automatics spool quicker than same setup on a manual

 

If you plan on lightly boosting you're truck (5-8psi), you MAY get away with a stock tranny, depending on other supporting mods. I would strongly recommend upgrading your valve body in the transmission as a bare minimum. Turbo's an automatics are great when done right, otherwise you are looking at many headaches. Especially if this is a DD.

 

yea turbos with an auto are much faster usually then manual as the shifts can be made much faster and the RPM loss isn't as great therefore the turbo stays spooled better.
