    I was looking for the same sort of compilation, but am confused about this being the first 8 volumes but then saying it is issues 1-48. Are there 6 issue volumes? What is a book vs issue vs volume here? I'm a book reader, never been into graphic novels before. I'm looking for one compilation, bound or digital, that includes everything.

    If you read the comics I'm pretty sure your going to anticipate a lot of stuff in the show.... It'll give you to much info about the future of the show. IMO

    borrowed the first 8 vols from the library, going to read and compare during the summer break. The plan is to not read pass where the show is, that's the plan anyway.

    from what i understand, shane never should have made it as far along in the show as to get to the farm. you could read them all and still have stuff not show up or extra stuff be added from the comics.

    Yah i've heard alot about the comics but and how they're different, just enough to make me want to check them out. I like the show, so I'm gonna go about this backwards from everyone else, i'm going to read the books AFTER so it doesn't disappoint the show or leave me expecting one thing and it either happeneing or not...yeah...

    This is a simple argument... everyone is already infected, when they die they come back as zombies with the only exception being excessive brain damage. I think this is what the CDC doctor told rick. Also, this is how 90% of all zombie related media operates.

    When you die you come back as a zombie... die of dehydration = zombie, die of stab wound to abdomen = zombie, broken neck = zombie, etc etc etc... only destroying the brain will prevent zombism. Its a bit ridiculous that TWD is using this mystery as a plot device. If you've even seen a zombie movies (besides The Dawn of the Dead remake) than you know everyone is already infected and it becomes active when you die.

    I think the TV series is only up to around book issue (around there somewhere) 20ish, which is the first volume... The books kick ass!

    I think I may have to read the comics and books as well. I really like this show and I and I don't think I can wait a few months till season 3 to comes out.
