pop-a-lock install

I couldn't easily find the thread for this so you can move it if you want. I thought my experience might be useful to others. This was the easiest mod I have done, that cost $. The easiest free one was the seat belt chime. From reading on TW and TN I knew the posts would not go in easily but in stead of removing them I just backed off on the 10mm nuts holding the OEM factory handle, slipped the pop-a-lock in, put the spacers on and the nylon lock nuts and done. I also knew there was no need to use the extentions and didn't. Knowing that also saved time. The tailgate worked fine without them, locked or unlocked. Hope this helps someone.

Does it replace the entire handle?

If so, do they have their logo on the handle?

I'm curious how different the 2009 install will be with the backup camera.

 

Mine was also a very easy install. It doesn't replace the handle, but rather slides underneath it. The only visable company logo is a small sticker which peels right off!

 

Well I saved em. Didn't thro em out. So if there is a problem I can install em, but so far so good to go.

 

I also did not install the extenders. I havent had a problem either. I tried with them in and out and didn't notice a difference.
