the only issue i have with the tacoma it doesn't have the tailgate lock, i bought the aftermarket lock but I never got a chance to put it on... go figure uh? I also read about the colorado has engine misfire... thank god you didn't have that issue... colorado seems small to me too... never even looked at it... I was wither frontier or tacoma... I didn't like the frontier since the back seats were so tight and it doesn't have slider rear window... I say f that... tacoma it is... tacoma has corned the midsize truck markert... they are selling over 100k a year... maybe later on i will trade in my 09 for a new one... only time will tell!

Your right on the misfire issue, its the valve seats that wear down and eventually cause the misfires. I was lucky on this one and didn't have the issue, but it was always a worry of mine as it could of showed up at anytime. The frontier seems like it has a nice chassis and engine but you are right about the interior it suffers in that aspect. The steering wheel on those things is hideous!

2012 Access Cab TRD Sport, Tow & mats were the only packages.

    Sticker was 28,400.
Then I learned about this silly tax & licensing, which can be up to 8 - 10%! Obviously I knew about it, but really had to catch on quick that the sticker price of a vehicle MEANS LITTLE.

Wait till youre with Finance & they say, "the truck has an alarm installed. It's 'x' (I don't remember) if you want to keep it activated..."

AND then..."Here are our warranty prices..."

All that gets added on top.

Anyways, sticker was 28,400. Like another poster on here, I went the last week of December with the hope that people wanted to make a deal.

These guys can get a little pushy. So I started having fun. I brought my checkbook with me every time, just in case. After about the 3rd dealership (& maybe 5 visits total) I had someone take my number - 26,500 out the door.

I said the invoice is 'x' and you agreed to give it to me for 'x' under invoice. Yes, yes, they agree. Ok, I'll pay it. That's the number. Done. Out the door. You pay the tax & license and I'll pay for the truck.

I'm not even 100% if that's a "great" deal or just average or what. I did have 2 of the finance guys tell me straight up, with shaking heads, "there's no way we're willing to lose money on this truck", or "why would I love money on this truck?" or "that's just not a realistic offer.." And they let me leave each time..didnt call me back either. But eventually I did have someone take my number. Obviously my first new vehicle purchase!

I was coming from a 2001 Tacoma Regular Cab 4 banger without even the SR5 package...so, I'm really enjoying the new truck. But, in the back of my mind...miss that 2001...
