Howdy, my name is Ross and I live in huntington beach, CA. I used to have a 2wd reg cab pickup a couple years ago and it was at that time that i became familiar with this forum. Later, my buddy got a tacoma prerunner and i referred to this site sevberal times for tech and tips for the various mods we made to his truck. Can't remember exactly why i sold my truck, but most of the mods i did made that little truck way faster but way less reliable so I wanted to start over with a better platform. I wanted eithera wrx wagon or a tacoma and i ended up getting a great deal on a WRX. I joined a club and showed up to the meetings and right away figured out that I didn't fit in. After 2 months or so, I lifted my wagon and put some bigger tires on so it would ride better off road...where it belongs. anyways... loved that car but it was a little small for me (I'm 6'4") and it wasnt any good in deep snow or going slow...not geared for that. My priorities have changed and I am now engaged and I needed to get out of making car payments to alieve my finances. I sold the car in Nov2011 and checked TTORA and craigslist everyday for like 2 months looking for the right truck. I ended up buying a 2000 tacoma 4x4 TRD Ext cab with a shell. I have since done the grey wire mod, K&N intake, buzzer mod, clear headlights soon to have HIDs, blackmagics on the bumper, and bilstein 5100s up front. I LOVE this truck!!!! My buddy has an FJ and i can go anywhere and do anything he can do sometimes somethings better because of the longer wheelbase, though Ive discovered I could use some sliders. Ive gone to Cleghorn twice, wildomar, fawnskin area, silverado peak, and most recently out to hodge rd and back home through lucerne. I look forward to meeting other members and often see the stickers on other tacomas and 4runners. Future mods I'd like to do include sliders (probably trail gear), UCAs, C/Os, and maybe chevy leafs with 5150s. I like to challenge myself and my truck and I definatly underestimated it, being that its stock, but man this thing can wheel, I just need to armor up and get some more aggressive tires...maybe i can fit 265/75/16....see you on the trail
