    Possibly.
I have a black sand pearl, so I might look at other pics with dark taillights first.

I know that most of you guys that have had the older Gen II think the 09's are ugly, but I kinda like the new one's. This is my personal opinion and thats what I think. I know, that and $1.50 will buy me a coffee!
Let's face it guys, LED's are the way of the future.

On mine, 2 would look the best. All my trim is colored like the paint - no black. Been looking at those lights for a while now.

BTW - did you get a quote on the stock '09 lights?

I believe the point of the stock LED'S is to better illuminuate for the back up camera, hense the 'upgrade' for the 09's.

As far as darkening taillights, that does not seem like a sharp move in that the best case senario would be to have the person behind you in traffic realize you are slowing down as soon as is possible. Seems the same would apply to darkening headlights as well, especially in areas prone to dear collisions.

I understand the top priority for many is to look 'good', but i these these things are valid considerations when driving on public roads.

Your logic is somewhat flawed. The only LED part of the 09 tails is the red cluster in the middle. The reverse lights are still normal incandescent bulbs and are no brighter than the previous tails (except for the pink tinge on the 05-08s).

The headlights are painted inside -- and not on the reflector, so it doesn't reduce light output.

However, tinting over lenses makes them more dim -- so good point.
