I've been looking for a new radio lately and have done some research..i almost bought a Pyle PLDN74BTi but after looking into pyle everyone says they're junk. i need a rear sub out put, a/v out put, and usb on the rear and i want double din touchscreen with dvd, ipod ready, and bluetooth (not a deal breaker but would like to have). any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i have a budget of about 300$ one that would be good for a starter system. are sound storm laboratories (SSL) and sound stream decent brands?

I would suggest the Kenwood DDX419 for you.. It's about $400 but it's well worth the money, and it has everything that you need. From crutchfield.com for $400 they send you everything with lifetime tech support, wiring diagrams specific to your head unit and vehicle, and the adapter piece to install it to your vehicle. I'm about to order the DDX319 (a step down from the 419, has everything the 419 has except for bluetooth) for $350. Plus it's brand new with an available 3 year warranty for like $30 extra. I believe I am correct about the bluetooth options and stuff like that.. I don't really care about the bluetooth which is why I'm going with the DDX319. I'm a fan of all Kenwood products though :)

    EDIT: Here's the link.

I'd also recommend the Kenwood DDX419. It's got all the things you said you wanted, although it's $400 instead of $300. I love it so far, I watch Seinfeld on DVD while driving. What could possibly be better than that! For $400 it's got pretty much everything except built-in navigation or satellite radio (which can both be added later with seperate accessories.)

Two things however: You'll need an adapter to make the steering wheel controls work. It's about $60, also from Crutchfield (where i bought mine.) And if you plan on playing DVDs much, you may want to spring for the $40 wireless remote control, because it seems to be the only way to navigate the menu screens on a DVD.

It's a power acoustik ptid-6250b 6.5" touchscreen with blue tooth. It satisfies me for the 220$ I got the radio and the dash kit for. It's nothin fancy. The backgrounds are pretty plain but it does what I want it to. It did come with a remote though. Lost my steering wheel controls but I didn't use them anyway. Had it for about 3 or 4 months so far and no problems yet.
