The Ford is probably stuck and it's waiting for the Tacoma to come down from getting air to get it unstuck.

217,000 miles and the only thing i have had to fix was radiator due to me dropping a wrench. That why you should get one....plus i could still sell mine for decent amount even being a 99.

Now if only the raptor frame didn't bend when jumped.....

And if only you didn't pay $45,000 for $40 rear blocks instead of an actual leaf pack....

I just traded from a 2008 f150 to my 2012 Tacoma. Although i did like the f150' the depreciation was a hard lesson i had to learn. Also, the handling, gas mileage, comfort, maneuverability, reliability and resale value all make the Tacoma a much better choice. Not to mention the "cool factor" of the Taco, i get tons of compliments.

My advice, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, the evidence is pretty glaring.

    Tacoma is definitely the winner.

    The better coast
Calling all toyota fanboys!! :p I should start a thread about what I'm thinking of getting instead of a tacoma :anonymous:.

I've ridden in and test drove a F150 just for shits a giggles. It was nice and I liked the inside but its to big for my preference. If you want the full sized truck feel then go with the F150. I know this is going off topic but If I were going to gt a full-sized I would personally go with chevy, always had one and no problems.

I think your choice goes to what you will be using it for.

Too bad he had the Sport. A-TRAC would have prevented that.

Do the F-150's have any type of off-road traction control?

Doesn't matter, no matter what it is it could never even come close to surpassing A-TRAC.

Yall got me I am a spy lol. Just joking.

So from my understanding a new TRD Sport 4x4 has traction control, stability control, but no longer limited slip. TRD Offroad 4x4 has traction controla, stability control, and a locking rear differential.
So the TRD Offroad also has ATRAC??? Can someone briefly explain this?

Well you weren't wrong really lol. Premium is recommended in some of the other differently tuned applications such as the Taurus SHO.

Like i said before OP it really comes down to what you are doing with the truck and which you like better. Both will have pros and cons. As much as i like my Taco anyone who says they are perfect is just being a fanboy they have their quirks and common issues like any vehicle. For everyone who says they know X amount of people who had problems with them there will be the same amount who know people with no issues. Personally i fall into the latter category and know people on their 2nd and 3rd with no major issues.

Real world (they are nearly identical in EPA ratings .. 18/20 for the 4, 16/21 for the 6), the 4 cylinder beats the V6 mpg by 10-25% depending on conditions. But the V6 has 48% more power and torque. Don't get me wrong .. the 4 is a good motor. But honestly, Toyota could have done a lot better with the efficiency and the HP (the 4 in the Taco is only 159hp .. it's 187hp in the Highlander).

To check real world mpgs averages, head on over to www.fuelly.com. You can choose the Tacoma, choose a year (2010 or 2011 would be good as they are complete years), and then choose engine type - 4 or 6. Then compare from there.

Take note that PreRunners (2wd) will be the ones with the really high MPG numbers under both engines .. so if you're looking for 4x4, take note of those who mention it in their listing (not all do). My experience .. 18 is a good average for the 4x4 6. 21 seems to be where the 4x4 4 lands.

I for one have averaged 19.1mpg on my V6 over 10k miles. No lift (just rear spring TSB), shell, Avid light bar and a pair of PIAAs for some additional drag on the front, 265/70r16 BFG All terrains, and about 100lbs of gear under the shell. Plus my fat 200+lb ass.

Go for a V6 TRD offroad auto & call it good. :) (you'll find most wont recommend the manual in the 6. It's much better in the 4. The auto actually gets better mileage than the stick in the 6).

    EDIT:

That would be none of the Tacomas.

i was DD last weekend because the bar we were at actually checked ID (I'm 19) so i got stuck driving a f150 crew cab. (07-08 ish)

it was the newest and lowest mileage of anything I've driven, yet it was by far one of the worst trucks I've ever experienced. it felt really wimpy, for lack of a better term. no low end power at all. awkward seating position. and it looked horrible

parking it was ridiculous. and I've owned 4 different full size trucks before my tacoma that were all about the same wheelbase as the ford, and the ford was 2wd so i don't understand why it was so hard to park.
