Front end rattle (found) *Video*

Ok guys so I've been hearing some rattling when going over pot holes and uneven pavement. I found the noise. Now I need to know HOW TO FIX IT...

By the way. I have purchased energy suspension steering bushing kit in hopes that it will stop the rattle.


Any input would help.

Only at high speeds. And I encounter uneven pavement. Then I'm all over the place.


Those are the ones I bought. Hopefully they work.

 

Doesn't look like it has anything to do with bushings, but then again, its very hard to tell with the camera moving while trying to catch the rack moving.

Is the whole rack moving or is it just the inner tie rod?

I'd start with doing the following.
Poly rack bushings and the new style rack guide.

After that, I'd replace the inner and outer tie rods.
After that, I'd do the steering shaft slip joint tack weld.

That should leave you with a play free steering system unless the rack gears are toast.

It's mostly the tie rods moving (not the rack itself) I will pull the boot back and check if the play is up and down. But it seems like my rack has the new style Rack guide already (with the "inny" )
