Unfortunatly for you so much time has passed. Wal Mart can't really be held to blame for an issue that happened six months ago. If you found the problem when they returned the keys to you , then you could have Wal Mart replace them if there was no disclaimer in the agreement that states not responsible for accidental overspray. Your truck is a 4x4 and not having it on the mud flaps isn't a big deal.

Don't waste your time taping and painting. Buy a white Sharpie paint pen and just color them with that. Make sure it's the paint pen though, obviously a regular white sharpie won't do the trick. Takes a few coats but looks good. And it's hard to screw up, since the 4x4 lettering is raised up. One of my flaps faded so that's what I did. Of course, then the other flap looked faded compared to the newly sharpied one so I did it as well. They both look good now. Did this about 8 or so months ago and still look good.

I folded the right side one up against the tailpipe and melted part of the '4x4' off. I suppose I could fix it if I gave a damn, but these things are probably going to get torn off on a rock one day anyhow. I would think that any flexible paint that adheres to plastic would be fine. Maybe check the nearest auto parts house because I'm sure they'll have something that'll stand up to being out in the weather also.

But then how does he say to the world, "look at me, I have a 4x4. Ain't I cool?" :D
But seriously, take those flaps off before they beat the piss out of your truck. I learned that the hard way.

Those Yosemite Sam flaps look cool.

honestly, just repaint them yourself with spray paint, then sell them. there's always people trying to buy mud flaps. for a pretty penny too

why not just tape it off, rough it up with some sandpaper, and paint it?

!. I thought WalMart "mechanics" did only tire and oil changing and filter replacement as well as topping off fluids. At least my neighbor (who is certified mentally challenged) did that as a WalMart "mechanic". She was told that's all that they do.

    2. If they are randomly spraying undercoating and got it on the flaps, what else could it have gotten on that is a risk for damage?

    3. You paid for this?

Our winters and crappy weather start November and last until May. To give a vehicle a real wash during that time is a waste of time. It is also too cold. To have days where the temp breaks 10C is few and far between. Between June and October is better weather for auto detailing. I'm sure in NH Spring has sprung and the season for auto washing has come. I still have snow in my backyard with rain/showers/fog and 44F for this coming week.

I'm not going to loose sleep if the white 4x4 is gone...but I like it there especially when it comes time to sell.

Factory mudflaps are over rated. Time to ditch them and upgrade to something better!

I like this answer the best. With or without the white on there your truck is still 4x4 no matter what. You can't wipe that away.

I personally removed my mud flaps

I wouldn't just take them off. They are there for a reason. Keep rain, snow, gravel, or whatever from kicking up on the cars driving behind you. But anyway, like I said before sharpie white paint pen. Incredibly easy. Pick one up at Michael's and go to town on that bad boy.
