    Hello Forum,

I finally purchased the BFG A/T's (265/75r16) for my '08 PreRunner 4.0 with 39,944 miles. Yes, the difference is slightly noticeable but no where near as extreme as I have read. My suspension is all stock (rear leafs are 3 total) & Timbrens. I have a u-bolt mod that I read hear under the post "goodbye axle wrap mod" Yes, it works & the rear is more firm due to this. I do not plan on doing a lift for my truck but I do want to upgrade my shocks/struts eventually. One thing at a time.

    Now to my question:

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the correct PSI should be on these tires? I called Michelin's 800 # & asked them this question. I gave him every detail of my truck necessary. He put me on hold for about 4 minutes. Then he comes back with this.

    45 front & 50 rear.

I asked him "more in the rear than the front!?" He said yes. I decided to set them at 38 front & 36 rear. I read a post of someone who did a chalk test & came up with this PSI. After today it will be a while before I get enough time off for me to be able to do a chalk test of my own. I would like more opinions on this from people who have driven a few thousand miles with these tires to hear their input & what P.S.I. they are using.

P.S. I also tow a 4,200 lb boat (total weight with trailer & gear) once a month for a total of 18 miles. Are these tires good on the ramp when pulling the boat out?

    Here are the pics.
    THANKS:D

I ran 32 front and rear on my '03 and they wore a little fast in the center of the tread, indicating that they were slightly over-inflated.

Thank you for the info & compliment!
BTW, BFG & Uniroyal are Michelin products. Also, there are no 265/75r16 BFG A/T's available in Load range D.

On an unrelated note. Today I installed Hellwigs 550 model on my leafs (on the leaf portion behind the axle) & a ToyTec 1/4" strut spacer which I installed on the left front to even out my truck. I measured before & after & I gained 1" of rear height.

Not bad. I was thinking of buying 1.5" steel (so they won't break) tapered blocks (tapered to eliminate vibration risk) but I might just leave it like this:D

Load range E tire is way to heavy and too stiff to run on a Tacoma IMHO.I would go with nothing hravier than a D on a small truck.Potholes and bumps are gonna jar the heck out of you unless you run them low on pressure, and your fuel mileage will also suffer with these tires.I would consider a Michelin or another lower weight rated tire for these trucks,I have been running these tires for years on many trucks from Toyotas to Ram 2500 diesels..Just my .02....
