I just bolted on a bosal cat back. $130 shipped, and she's nice and quiet finally.

Go with a Borla Turbo muffler. I have had flowmaster, magnaflow, and spintech exhaust on my tacomas and they all sound good but the best sounding muffler I have heard on a 3.4 is a borla turbo muffler. I am ditching my flowmaster here soon to get a borla. Here is a clip with one on a 4runner

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
I just got a custom exhaust finished on my Taco today.

I ended up going with an 18" Magnaflow offset 2.5" in/2.5" out.

Routed the piping out behind the rear passenger tire(like stock). Had the muffler guy hack the factory 2.25" piping right after the rear o2 sensor and do 2.5" all the way to the tip.

Couldn't be any happier honestly. ZERO drone and only loud when mash it. Living in CA, this keeps the local pigs off my ass. Wind noise overpowers it on the freeway lol. I could have gone with the 14" Magnaflow but I wanted more of a deep rumble. If/when I go with headers, it should sound nice and throaty.

I can post pics when I get a chance.

    Goodluck!

I didnt vote because I dont know much about the other exhausts besides flowmaster and cherrybomb, and i would say no to both of those.

i had a cherry bomb on my truck for a while and i swear to god i have a hard time hearing now.

Got rid of that for the flowmaster 60 series, it is a lot quieter than the 40 series, and no drone in the cab. still gives a good throaty deep sound, but i want to get rid of it just because like people say it decreases HP, and i have to agree. first time i stepped on the gas after having the flowmaster on i noticed a slight power decrease.

I didnt read through the posts but I am sure someone else has already said some of the same things about flowmaster and cherrybomb.

IMO go with something other than those two.

Flowmaster 40 Series. Was set on getting the Magnaflow 14" but it ended up sounding closer to stockish right before they welded it on so I went with the FM.

I like it, but sometimes the sound varies. Weird . Sometimes it's nice and strong with a good tone and sometimes it sounds gurgly... Does this happen to anyone else???

Yea I that's prob it. So I'm guess cold starts are stronger (better tone) and hot starts are the opposite (causing the gurgly sounds)??? I'll have to observe that next time I start it up.

I had the glasspack as well. thought it was way to loud. I had it dumped as well. I did a lot of driving between CT and NH with it up the hills and stuff so maybe thats what made it so loud. Highway speeds was unbearable, on the street it wasn't to bad, just made my mom complain a lot when i came home late haha...

Thrush welded, $40 for the muffler. I love mine, doesn't get raspy in the 4 cyl. till like 4,000 RPM range, which I hardly ever get to anyway. Heard it on a 6cyl. and fell in love, definately sounds better on the 6 cyl.

Had the flowmaster super 10 on mine for a day but it sounded too ricey, so today i switched it to a super 40 and it sounds much better. Its kind of quiet to me but maybe thats because i had a 460 V8 f250 with no cat and a super 44 ;)

Thanks man! I LOOOVE it :D

That would have to do with the temp of the motor. Mine isn't near as mean sounding when its not warmed up.

and to bad ya didn't stick with the 14 man! its an awesome muffler. Im curious as to what rpms you listened to it at that made you change your mind. Cause at about 2.3-2.4ish it goes pretty silent and doesn't wake back up till about 2.9-3. Which is great cause the drone on the hwy isn't so bad.
