After market T.B's vs. a bored out T.B's is apples and oranges. I see no point in say boring out the stock opening to 72mm and leaving the butterfly 70mm. The 70mm will be the bottle neck. An aftermarket 72 mm T.B. will be 72 mm at the butterfly aswell as the opening.
    Just saying.

I also agree in that a T.B. is not the best bang for your buck. Not in a NA Tacoma atleast.

The do know that the 1GR throttle is a drive by wire right?

Do they know that the 2UZ-FE TB could be used with the stock air surge tank (with some slight modding)?

i can't seem to get my head around this one. i understand big bore throttle bodies and airflow, where i'm confused is at the throttle body itself. it does not have a direct connection to the accelerator pedal, it's controlled by the ecm(engine control module). your foot is just an input(or request for more air) it's the ecm that makes the determination of how much air, of course basing off of others factor, i.e. intake air temp, air flow, load. these just aren't the same as far as your old mustang goes. that's why urd maf calibator works so damn well.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i think its the fact that if u go WOT, you're pulling in a little bit more are than the stock TB. that is also dependent upon the intake as well i would think

if you look at the throttle body on your truck, you will notice the black plastic housing attached to the side of the TB (throttle body). That is a motor that controls the throttle based on the TPS (throttle position sensor), and some other sensors. All monitored by the ECU.

The URD Maf cal doesn't have anything to do with the DbW (drive by wire). It alters the Air/Fuel map for the ECU.

exactly what i thought. the problem i have is that throttle won't go WOT unless the ecm requests it, not the driver. you would have to change the map for the throttle in the ecm.
