then you should try bootcamp... i don't run parallels becuase booting into the mac os uses some of the system resources, by using bootcamp all of the ram and processing power is available to windows :) but you have to re-boot to do it which is an ok tradeoff for me

I bought it with the matte screen option, I hate the glare you get on glossy screens.

I hate not having the FW 400 I have never used a 800 port.

BTW this this great, what to took my old mac 5 mins to do the new one can do in 30 secs  But it was a PB G4 1.67

now i'm really jealous :D i've use fw800 all the time but i don't see that big of an increase in speed. i do like to use fw over usb tho (i edit hd video so sometimes i transfer 80gb or more) i have esata on one of my new tb drives but non of my computers have an esata port :( also fw800 and fw400 are interchangeable and just runs at the slower speed... you just have to buy a 9pin to 6pin cable or 9pin to 4pin depending on the other device (incase you didn't know)

i'm pretty sure you get a refurb, but usually they will replace all the bad parts instead of giving you a different machine.

Ya i rather have them switch out all the bad parts than get someone elses beat up mac. I know i took good care of mine and did not drop/scratch it.

The new one looks like the screen grew in size as the keyboard shrank..

    nope both keyboards or 10.5".

This mac is super fast. I can export 16 pg cmyk pdfs out of Indesign in less than a minute, my old mac took about 10 mins to get that kind of work done. This one still gets nuclear HOT just like the old mac. I love having the 17 instead of 15.

Also the new battery design kicks ass. A 3 hr movie only drains it 45%. WOW.
The old macs wouldn't get a full length movie out of a battery. freaking awesome. I as love the new track pad, bigger and better. I really like being able to tap the pad to click. It great.

well it's not like they'd send you a piece of junk... and it wouldn't have dents in it, just maybe a couple small scratches on the bottom or something. plus all refurbs go through testing to make sure they are "as good as new" before they get sent to people. but like i said all the parts are replaceable so idk why they would they send you refurb.
