Because I don't need 4wd to use my truck for what I need to do, it cost a lot less and get's great mpg.

They why ask the question? You've determined you don't need a 4WD. No bad weather where you live?

You asked, I answered, and Colorado like you, but I get where I need to go every time.

well if you live in a place that doesn't get much snow and dont off road there is not really a need. it is cheaper
imo if i lived in a place like that i wound not even consider anything that is not 4wd. 2wd cars are just a nuisance and annoy me when it snows or i head up into the mountains.

Go 4x4. You'll appreciate it on a wet boat ramp. Check www.TrueCar.com for a better price.

Actually I think a lot of people around the country would be surprised just how little snow Boulder, Denver metro, and for that matter the entire Colorado Front Range actually gets. 350 days a years a 2wd would be perfectly fine in Worthywad's Boulder. Now if you are heading into the mountains, then yeah .. different story. But not a big deal .. you just have to watch the weather and road condition. Colorado's snow is very grippy too.

oh, ya i wasn't sure how much snow boulder got. In boise there is about 20" of snow a year, so down here 4x4 isnt needed, but 150 miles in the mountains the ski hill 15 minutes from Mccall gets 29 ft a snow a winter on average...you would be flat out stupid to try and make that drive with a 2wd. Thats just begging to slide off the road into the river.

Go 4x4. You won't regret it. There could always be a situation in where 4x4 would be handy. Like sandy hill climbs :D

Everytime I go offroading, and I hit that little bit of too steep hill and gravel on the upslope and my truck starts slithering around trying to get traction up the hill, with the locker on, I punch myself in the face for not getting a 4X4.

Not giving you an internet price because the guy that offered you the price isn't there sounds like pure BS. I'd tell the salesman to beat his price or you walk.

Maybe if you drive the car off the cliff, you can use the insurance money to buy a 4x4? :p

If you're going to drop upwards of 25k for a vehicle be damn sure it's got everything you'd ever want. If you plan on wheelin the hell out of it go for an older model that you wouldn't mind scratching, denting etc. If you do go 4x2 just know your limits and don't treat it like a 4x4. It's good to have if you ever need it, or just don't put yourself in a position that you wished you had it. Good Luck OP.
