The Dakars are a double overload spring, much heavy duty then OE. Deavers and Alcans from my research are designed for flex, reducing load carrying. Of coarse both companies will build you a custom pack if your got the $$$. I would think a 3 pack add a leaf might slightly increase load carrying, but again they are designed for flex, and remove the OE overload. As Brunes has said, replacing the springs doesn't actually increase the load carrying of the truck, you still must not overload the GVW. The heavier springs allow you to carry up to max GVW without sagging the rear end.

sounds good, I'm just thinking if an AAL would at least keep the original GVW then I'd go that route instead of adding a 3 leaf which would take away the OLL. Would like to get the whole dakar leaf pack but heard that can cause driveline vibs? Seems like the aal adds just as much lift as a 3 leaf pack, and it is cheaper.
