bfg all terrain

hey guys i heard that bfg is now selling there all terrains in 265x65r17. They have a load of E. I had these on my old truck but they were rated at c. Whats the differece? is it ok to run them? will i notice anything different? thanks

 

I think it has a thicker sidewall so it will be slightly heavier. May provide a bit of a harsher ride than softer tire rated C. This is only a guess on my part though.

 

E has an increased load carrying capacity over C.

 

is anyone running these tires with E? how is the ride?

 

I have the BFG ATKO in an E range (245 75 16) on my Range Rover and don't have any issues with the ride. (The Rover also has OME HD springs.) I don't have any experience with them on a Tacoma yet though.

Not a direct comparison, but at least it's a start!

I have E rated tires and they are way to hard!!! Dont get E unless you do alot of heavy towing. E rated tires are usually for full size trucks and really stiff on our light tacomas.

 

E is the highest load rating for these tires. It is a very firm tire, especialy with a 65% sidewall. E's are made for commercial trucks or for people towing heavy 5th wheels. You may consider the 70 series if they come in a lower rating.

These trucks come stock with a P rating for a reason, because they are not very heavy and don't carry a lot of weight. P is the most comfortable ride as well.

I am running a D BFG A/T and it is fairly firm but I like that. My size came in D and E and I ordered the D's and would have gone C if they had them.

 

My Nitto Dune grapplers are load E in 285.75.16 -- rides fine to me...
