421 miles on my last tank. Put in 18.1 gallons for a 23.2 MPG average. Not bad. Been consistently getting 22-23 this year. I've got 8700 miles on my Tacoma.

Filled up today. 571.5 miles - 20.986 gallons :crapstorm: for 27.2 MPG

Won't go that far again. But it never burped. It helps having a Ultragauge.

    $3.30/gallon?

    That's a buck less than we're paying.

It was only $3.21 a few days ago. Went up 11¢ on Thursday. And came down 2¢ today. And most of the reason is MO is a low tax state.

    Thanks Litegide,

This is a full 3+ MPG more than I was getting when the truck was new during the Month of May in 2008. Was not logging anything back then.

I am sure it is a combination of factors helping my MPG. UltraGauge, decreased circumference of the tires, the egg under the go pedal, 0w-20 oil, a mild winter, motor fully broken in, ect. Started Fuelly at about the 18K mark. That is about $6 a tank savings.

    Happy Motoring to all:burnrubber:

I just finished reading this thread start to finish and I don't even have a truck! LOL. I learned a lot in 25 pages. I thinks its amazing the mpg's you guys get. I might be looking to get a 4cy tacoma soon and honestly I'd be happy with 20 mpg's with all city driving and a heavy foot. At least now I know mid 20's is very realistic with a little effort.

Here it is when the light came on and the fill was 615.4 miles on 18.431 gallons for 33.4 mpg. More Safeway gas with 80 cent discount at $2.899.

Three trips to Denver helped out.

Very nice indeed, that's the best I've seen out of a PreRunner.

Gauge does not alter the truck.
It simply provides average, instant, trip, and "srt" MPG and other numbers which allow you to look at the gauge, see 9.034mpg, look at the road, and think, "ya know, I see brake lights up there, I really could ease off a bit"

I like the "SRT" function. It's like a "trip" bank, but it resets to zero every time the truck is restarted. Like yesterday, traffic totally sucked on the way home from work. My MPG for the tank calculated to 24.3. Scangauge showed 24.2. On the way in to work yesterday morning, it showed 24.8... but the SRT for the trip home was under 20.

    Litegide,

I ran it right to empty last time when I was not leaving town for a few days. The 571 miles was the most I have had in one tank. I have a Ultragauge that is very accurate. When under 10 gallons of fuel it countsdown in hundredths of a gallon of remaining fuel. It is the best $80 the GF has ever spent on me. Have had it a 1.5 years and it is still a interesting instrument to use, and try to understand all that it can do.

Or just upload it as an attachment, then link to the attachment in the message.

That way the image is not at the mercy of the Photobucket connection, doesn't slam your bandwidth. Few things piss me off more than someone posting a BITCHIN how-to article but too cheap to spend the $50/year to upgrade their PB so the images always display "Bandwidth Exceeded"... a big problem with popular forums.

my first attempt at posting a picture...my 2012 with 1800 miles on it...took the picture last night...by the time i got to a gas station this morning milage was 401 on the dot and took exactly 19 gallons to fill it...so unless my math is off thats 21.1 mpg...holy crap thats way better than my f150 :) and they say milage gets better as the engine breaks in?

    Yes it does.

Now temper that enthusiasm with you having a 4x4... 21 is damned good for a 4x4.
My best tank has been 26.5 on my 5-lug, automatic. Average since I got on Fuelly has been 24.5, but I've been running the AC a lot more and traffic has been heavy last few weeks.
