need roofing advice

hey guys. i have a general question. i have a vent ridge in my attic and we had some bad thunderstorms tonight and i went up in the attic to look around just to check for normal leaks and i noticed up in the center where the vent ridge is installed were just random little drops of rain. very minor specks of rain. could this be just normal from the wind blowing it up in their. it was a little windy and it did rain hard. i mean they are just little specks of water....very spread out. no signs of wetness anywhere though. and the specks are only on the plastic part of the vent ridge. roof is only 4 years old and we have never had any issues. could this be normal for wind to do that even if everything is installed properly and im just overreacting as usual? thanks guys!

 

Heavy wind can drive some rain into ridge vents , probably not too big a deal .

You can get some ridge venting with flaps that close up with high wind .

yep, ...horizontal wind i'd think could drive some rain in... this past winter i noticed the wind had blown fine powder snow up into the attic through my soffit vents! ...maybe some products/designs out there can mitigate these kinds of things, but most people probably never even know it happens...

...one thing of caution in dealing w/ storms, ...if you get hit by hail, ...even if the damage isn't severe enough to be visible to the casual observer, it can still have caused damage that should be covered under your insurance.... if it knocks the granules off of your shingles, it can reduce the life of your roof...

 

You can get ridge venting that has a fine mesh that keeps out light blowing snow .

Walking on an asphalt roof when it is hot out is also bad for the roofing as it pulls out the granules
