    Hi all,

Long time lurker to this great site.

    1. I was reading about changing air filters and I thought I'd check the one in my glove box, except now I can't get this dampener attached again. I searched the forums and saw some people saying to use a screw, but I'd like to not go that route just yet. Any other suggestions?

    2. I saw recommendations for aFe drop in filters, so I checked Amazon. Which model would be best for me? This or this?

    3. Can someone tell me what type of intake I have on my engine there? I was looking at the aFe cold air intakes and they don't seem too expensive. Is that something I should even consider?

Pics of my engine and dampener problem here.

I'm not exactly the DIYer, but I'm trying to be with my Taco.
    Mine is a 2007 PreRunner 2wd (don't laugh) TRD Off-Road Access Cab.

Thank you all for your time.

Stock paper. Flows more than enough for the engine and filters better than ANY washable filter.
Stock intake is a cold-air design.
Most "cold air intakes" end up drawing hot air from under the hood.
It's a bit of a pain, but it should snap back over the pin. That looks to be in pretty good shape.

You'll have to pull on the damper a bit and line up the pins with the hole that is closer to the pushrod.

    Thanks for the response Rich.

I've replaced both the engine air filter and the glove box one.

I won't bother with the intake.

I also got the dampener on after busting my knuckles for a bit. :)

I also put on some Michelin LTX MS/2 p265/70r16 tires from discount tire. They are great!
