OEM 2.7 Oil Filter part number?

    90915-yzzg1 and d1 are equivalent according to the toyota oil filter application chart.

    I picked up a filter at the dealer a few days ago for my 2012 I4.

    They gave me a
    $53 90915-yzzd3 Oil Filter 1 Case (QTY 10)
    90915-yzzd3, which I am now finding is the correct filter for the v6. But is supposedly just a bit longer than the I4 filter ?

    Anyway, is there any disadvantage to using the v6 filter, and anybody know why Toyota bothers to use two different filters ?

    I have not changed the oil yet, planning on it this weekend. I am wondering if I should get the correct filter
    $54 90915-yzzd1 Oil Filter 1 Case (QTY 10)
    90915-yzzd1 or maybe mobil one filter ?

    OEM Toyota filters are the best. Chris4x4 did a comparison somewhere I can try and dig up in a sec...

    What you have is fine. Either will work great. the D3 is just a bit longer.

    I went to the dealer to get a case of filters and the parts man told me they are using the D3 filters for the G1 filters.

    I just checked on Amazon, and they say the
    $53 90915-YZZD3 Oil Filter 1 Case (QTY 10)
    90915-YZZD3 doesn't fit my '13 2.7L PreRunner. They may have bad info. I also just checked with the Toyota online parts website. They say for 2011 to present the correct filter for the 2.7L is 90915-YZZG1! Help!!!

    You just woke up a 3 yo thread. PNs could have changed a couple time in that period. Not to mention the manuf. of the 'Toyota' filter (since Toyota doesn't make them)

    Wakie Wake Eggs & Bakie lol.....
    When i did my last oil change i went to the dealer for a filter and they gave me a 90915-YZZG2 and thats what i got on the truck now but when i search for that to get a box of them on ebay or Amazon they dont exist. People say that the D3 fits a 4 cylinder and is a little longer which wont hurt anything cause that's more to filter the oil!!!
