Jacked...

So i had a couple friends over last night, one of which drives an 03 tacoma...someone jacked her catalytic converter while she was parked out in front of my house on the street.. wtf

 

wow. thats wierd... ?

 

yah some one did the same thing a few houses down from mine with a sawzall one night about a month ago, now i try to park in my drive way infront of my window

 

That sucks and we have 4. They are valuable because they contain plantinum along with other expensive metals. they make locks now. catclamp.com

 

That happens alot. They target Tacomas because of their ground clearance. They steal them and sell the precious metal on the inside. I forgot what it is but its expensive. I'm a police officer in Florida and I alone have done 2 reports on Tacomas.

 

lame. im keeping my paintball gun loaded by my front door from now on in case i see some a-hole under my truck

 

Thats fine and dandy but what if they're armed. Do you really want to bring a paintball gun to a fire fight? IDK, I guess its just me. I think about these things.

 

I dont really want to start poppin glock rounds in the hood.. but i'll sure as hell lite someone up with paint right off the bat. I got a wall to hide behind, if i see somethin i dont like ill run in and grab the glock

what was your overall cost of everything underneath?

 

y-pipe was 300. got the magnaflow set up for 200. but im sure you can get it cheaper by just replacing your muffler with a magnaflow instead of gettin the catback

It happens here all the time. There is platinum inside some of the converters and recyclers pay 150-250 a piece for them up here. They typically pick trucks and or SUV's because they can get under them easily. One dealership her got hit on something like 75 new vehicles... OUCH

 

They need to require recyclers by law to keep records of who turns them in.
