I broke the lugnut key taking a wheel off my truck. The lugs are all loose and I have no way to tighten (or complete the hub-centric ring installation I was doing) w/o the key.

Does anybody have a key for lugs like the ones below? I'm in the Vestavia Hills area. My truck is out of commission until I can get one.

Please PM me if you can help.

OOOO that's ugly! Try going to a tire place and see if they have one to borrow. Of coarse leave something of value to you so they know you will return.... repeat of what was posted in the Alabama thread.

/\ What he said. you could also check some auto parts stores and see if they may have a key or maybe a new et set to replace those. Damn that makes me want to order another key as a back up. How the hell did you break it?

It broke just taking the damn lugs off. I don't know if the place I have them rotated/balanced put them on too tight or what, but it was the sixth damn lug when the key broke, so I'm fully f***ed.

was it on one tire??? damn that really sucks. Do you still have the factory lugs for it? They probably over-torqued them...

Any tire store should have extras on hand for sale. I broke my lug key last weekend and had to dish out $20 to get a new one at the local Big-O tires.

The manager told me there's 3 kinds of keys that break very easily/often, and then he pulled out a box of over 100 lug keys, and had me pick out which one was mine. He said they make a bunch of money on them.

I'm headed to a tire store in the morning to see if I can't find one. I'm going to the one that rotates/balances mine, and say they lugs were tight as shit... They know me there, and might let me borrow one.
