    Glad I found this site!
My 2004 manual shift, ext cab V6 Tacoma is with old friends in AZ while I'm in Afghanistan, til April 2013. In 180K miles, never had any problems that weren't totally my fault -- like bumping into things while off-roading. So she needs some bodywork, which is already in the offing.
But also, while I'm gone, I'm having the aforementioned friends' trusted family mechanic take a good hard diagnostic look at her. Aside from minor, probably fuse-related electrical issues [cruise control stopped working right before I left], I was mainly concerned about shocks and brakes -- no problems, just trying to be proactive.
Of course, my friends' mechanic may find lots of issues, or 'potential issues,' that I had no clue about.
I'm not sure how much he works on Tacomas, so I may want to run some of his suggestions by you all. I will post again next week, when I get the estimate. Thanks!
